Teflon

Teflon, also known as Polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE), is chemically inert even under high temperatures and pressures. It features outstanding non-stick properties due to its extremely low friction coefficient and maintains its chemical and electrical properties between -180°C and 260°C. Additionally, Teflon is non-flammable, making it crucial in electrical and electronic industries.

Properties

    1. Heat Resistance: Withstands temperatures up to 260°C.
    2. Non-Stick Properties: Ideal for coating surfaces for cooking and manufacturing.
    3. Chemical Resistance: Resists corrosion from various chemicals.
    4. Electrical Insulation: Prevents electrical current flow.

Applications:

  • Cookware: Provides non-stick surfaces for easy cleaning.
  • Electrical Components: Used for insulating wires and cables.
  • Industrial Tools: Employed in manufacturing seals and gaskets.
